TDS Category Master

Add and maintain TDS Categories through this master. The Category can be further specified at the time of Transactions such as Bill Passing, Bank Transaction etc. Based on this Category, associated Rate Structure will be applied and the amount as per Tax Rate Code of Rate Structure will be posted.

A list of already existing TDS Categories will be displayed as follows -

Search:

Enter any text you want to search in the list below. The search is applicable to all columns of the list. Once the text is entered, press <ENTER> key. As a result, the list will be refreshed with all those records that contain the entered text fully or partially. In order to go back to the original list, remove the text from the box and press <ENTER> key again.

Categories can be added, edited, and viewed provided the Role associated with the currently logged-in user through User Management has the respective rights to do so.

To 'Add' a Category, click on the button and to 'Edit', click on the icon on its corresponding record. Click on the icon to 'Delete' a particular Category. To view details of a particular Category, <DoubleClick> on that record. As a result, following screen will be displayed -

Once a Category is defined, it can not be deleted.

Field Description of TDS Category Master

TDS Category Code:

(Type : Alphanumeric, Length : 3)

Specifies the Code of TDS Category.

While 'Adding' a new TDS Category, enter the unique Category Code. This is the Code by which the Category will be referred to throughout IMMS.

In case of 'Edit' and 'View', Code will be displayed automatically as per the selected record. You can NOT change it.

TDS Category Description:

(Type : Alphanumeric, Length : 60)

Specifies the Name of TDS Category Code.

While 'Adding' a new TDS Category, enter the name of the Category Code. This is the name by which the Category will be referred to throughout IMMS.

In case of 'Edit' and 'View', name of the TDS Category Code will be displayed automatically as per the selected Category Code. You can change it in 'Edit' mode.

Section:

(Type : Alphanumeric, Length : 10)

Specifies the Section of TDS Category.

While 'Adding' a new TDS Category, enter the name of the Section.

In case of 'Edit' and 'View', section will be displayed automatically as per the selected Category Code. You can change it.

Limit above which TDS to be Deducted:

(Type : Numeric, Length : 9.2)

Specifies the Limit of amount after which the TDS should be deducted.

While 'Adding' a new TDS Category, enter the Limit for that Category.

In case of 'Edit' and 'View', Limit will be displayed automatically as per the selected Category Code. You can change it.

TDS Rate Structure:

Specifies the Rate Structure of TDS Category.

While 'Adding' a new TDS Category, click on the field to access a list of TDS Rate Structures that have already been defined through TDS Rate Structure Master option. Select your desired Rate Structure from the list by scrolling down to it and pressing <ENTER>. Alternatively you can also enter the Rate Structure Code. Press <TAB>.

In case of 'Edit' and 'View', Rate Structure of the TDS Category Code will be displayed automatically as per the selected Category Code. You can change it.

Once you have entered all the information, click on 'Save' button to finally save the TDS Category or 'Cancel' button to discard. The control will go back to the list.
